Compiler

Verbweaver’s Compiler enables you to translate your assorted, somewhat related notes and ideas into an organized, structure, linear document in common filetypes (Markdown, HTML, PDF, DOCX, ODT, and EPUB).

  1. Select the nodes whose content you want in your document.

  2. Select the order of those nodes.

  3. Pick a filetype.

  4. Pick a template. Templates are per-project and are fully customizable with variables, logic, and advanced formatting.

  5. Fill in your variables.

    1. Document descriptions such as “Title” and “Author”.

    2. Template-specific variables. These can be single variables, tables, and other kinds of structured data.

    3. Override node variables. You can override the values of variables that are used by the template on a per-node basis. This is useful if the node doesn’t have the variable already or you want to substitute a different value than what it currently has saved.

  6. Choose Options:

    1. Whether or not to include the node’s metadata in the document.

    2. Whether or not to include a Table of Contents.

    3. Whether or not to embed images that are attached to nodes.

  7. Optionally, you can save all of your choices into a JSON file or load it from a previous configuration.

  8. Now you can hit “Compile and Download” to get your procedurally-generated document!
